VAT tax recalculation method added to Big Chooser, Big Spender

(02/2012) Zen Cart Big Chooser and Zen Cart Big Spender have now been updated to do "VAT" style recalculation, which is preferred by some vendors who use embedded taxes in their product prices.

Using Big Chooser to Filter on Attributes for Discounting

(01/2012) Zen Cart Big Chooser has been enhanced to allow you to discount on the basis of attribute settings. See the set_constraint_attrfilter and set_discount_attrfilter functions.

Advanced Discount Configuration

(01/2012) I wrote an article that demonstrates some ways you can configure my discounting modules by using PHP in the setup() function. A few interesting examples are contained for people who'd like to do Advanced Configuration of That Software Guy's Zen Cart Discount Modules.

Impulse Buy

(12/2011) Impulse Buy has been updated to ensure that disabled items are not displayed as Impulse Buys. Updates are available for Zen Cart 1.3.8, 1.3.9 and 1.5.0.

Demo Sites

(12/2011) Many of my Zen Cart mods have been installed on the following demo sites: Demo Shop 1, Demo Shop 2, and Demo Shop 3.

Zen Cart 1.5.0 Updates

(11/2011) All my software - both free contributions and commercial extensions - have been updated to support Zen Cart 1.5.0. Here's a list of That Software Guy's Zen Cart Contributions which have updates for Zen Cart 1.5.0, and here's a list of That Software Guy's Zen Cart Extensions which have updates for Zen Cart 1.5.0. (For other software, the latest version works without changes in Zen Cart 1.5.0.)

(11/2011) All my osCommerce discounting mods for osC 2.2 and 2.3.1, including Better Together, Quantity Discounts, Big Spender, Big Chooser, and Table Discounts, have been updated to include "VAT" style tax calculation, which is preferred by some UK merchants, and others who use embedded taxes.

(10/2011) Table Discounts has finally been ported to osCommerce. All you osCommerce users who want to do Quantity Discounting on a per Category, Product or Manufacturer basis, with different schedules for each, take a look! Oh, and yes, of course Discount Preview for osCommerce works with Table Discounts, for osCommerce 2.2 and 2.3.1.

Zen Cart - Find Duplicate Models

(10/2011) Zen Cart Find Duplicate Models allows you to quickly identify which items in your catalog are using the same model number - an important feature if you are using a plugin like QBI, which requires unique model numbers for every item in your catalog.

Zen Cart - Better Together Updates

(09/2011) Zen Cart Better Together and Zen Cart Buy Both Now just got a refresh because of an issue reported by a customer using Better Together Offers on Zen Cart Listing Pages. This issue only affects people using the Better Together listing pages mod.

Zen Cart - Big Spender Updates

(08/2011) Zen Cart Big Spender has always allowed you to exclude certain items from the calculation of the threshold and the discount (using set_negative_constraint). But now you can include an item in the threshold calculation even though you're not going to discount it, using set_no_discount. Some storeowners wanted this flexibility, so it was added!

Zen Cart - Search Helper

(08/2011) Have you looked at Zen Cart Search Helper? It allows you to specify aliases, alternate names and misspellings for your products. I just updated it to improve the documentation. Try it out!

Zen Cart - Free and Discounted Shipping

(06/2011) Zen Cart Big Spender now has a mechanism to offer free or discounted shipping on orders which reach specific spending thresholds with certain products, categories or manufacturers. Check out set_cart_free_shipping and set_cart_discounted_shipping in Big Spender for Zen Cart!

(04/2011) You can now easily offer customers the ability to "round up" their purchases to the next dollar or two for charity with my Zen Cart Roundup for Charity extension.

Zen Cart - Better Together Centerbox

(04/2011) Better Together offers can now be displayed on the main page using my Zen Cart Better Together Centerbox contribution.

And if both of the items in a Better Together linkage are products with no attributes, you can add the "I Want Both" button in the Centerbox for just $20.00! I Want Both works just like Add both to Cart and Buy Both Now, but it's for the Better Together Centerbox. I Want Both works just like Add both to Cart and Buy Both Now, but it's for the Better Together Centerbox (instead of the Promotional Page or the Product Info Page).

(03/2011) Both Zen Cart Big Chooser and Zen Cart Big Spender have been updated with new features that enable you to disallow specific Zen Cart groups from receiving discounts (better interoperability with native Group Pricing) and allow specific Dual Pricing wholesale levels to receive discounts.

osCommerce 2.3 Better Together Promotional Page

(03/2011) The osCommerce Better Together Promotional Page is now available for osCommerce 2.3. For product based linkages with products that don't have attributes, there is also an optional "Add both to Cart" button on the page.

Updates to Sale Ending/Special Ending for Zen Cart

(03/2011) Zen Cart Sale Ending/Special Ending has been updated to permit you to have multiple ways to display a sale's end date.

The way Zen Cart handles expiry dates is that a sale or special with an end date of X actually ends at midnight the day before X. For instance, a sale which has an enddate of July 12th actually ends at midnight on July 11th, but the sale ending date shows July 12th. Some people don't like this. If you want the sale to end at midnight on July 12th and show this date in sale ending/special ending, set the end date to July 13th in Zen Cart (us usual) and follow the instructions in this mod.

And if you like showing the Sale Ending/Special Ending text on the product info page, you can also show it on your listing pages; this extension is only $20.00.

Discount Preview for osCommerce 2.3.1

(02/2011) Discount Preview for osCommerce has just been updated for osCommerce 2.3.1, the latest and greatest osCommerce 2.x version. If you are using any of my osCommerce Discounting Modules, such as Better Together, Quantity Discounts, Big Spender or Big Chooser, you should look at Discount Preview.

Quick Status Update for Zen Cart

(02/2011) One of my clients has several intermediate statuses that an order goes through before getting delivered. They don't want the customer getting an email on each of these transitions, and don't want to have to open up the order edit page every time they make a status change. So I created Zen Cart Quick Status Update to allow them to change the status of an order simply by selecting it in the orders screen (Admin->Customers->Orders). It's available as a free download from the Zen Cart Free Software Add Ons area.

Minimum order for Installment Plan

(01/2011) I updated the Zen Cart Installment Plan module to allow shopowners to set a minimum purchase threshold for installment payments.
