Overview:

Many store-owners run both coupon based discounts, and Zen Cart Sales and Specials. If you want to avoid the double-discounting that occurs when a coupon is used on a sale or special item, you can do so with my Coupons No Sale or Special mod.

Example

Consider the following coupon - a 10% off coupon called SAVETEN.



Let's suppose your customer is interested in this item:



If they use the SAVETEN coupon, this is what the checkout confirmation page will look like:



With Coupons No Sale or Special, the coupon will not even be accepted.



If they have additional non-sale/non-special items in their cart, the coupon will be accepted but will apply only to those items.



(The discount is calculated based on the non sale/special total, $42.00 + $34.99 = $76.99, 10% of that is $7.70).

Installation Instructions:

1. Back up everything! Try this in a test environment prior to installing it on a live shop.
2. Depending on your Zen Cart version, copy the contents of 1.3.9, 1.5, etc. to the root folder of your shop.
3. Big Chooser users: If you have made the Zero Dollar Coupon changes before to use no value coupons with Big Chooser, you will need to make it again; they are not included in the copy of ot_coupon.php that ships with this mod.
