Specials Import for Zen Cart allows you to import a CSV of Zen Cart Specials (rather than creating them one by one in the admin panel). This is a big time saver for people who use Specials frequently.

Overview:

Installation Instructions:

1. Back up everything! Try this in a test environment prior to installing it on a live shop.
2. Copy the contents of the admin folder to the admin directory of your shop.
3. Run the Specials Import.sql file against your database, using Admin > Tools > Install SQL Patches.
4. You may now import specials from a CSV file using Admin > Tools> Upload Specials File.

Using the Mod

1. In Excel, create a spreadsheet with these columns: ID, Price, Expiry, Available (representing the product id, special price, end of special and start of special).
2. For the two date columns Expiry and Available, you must be sure they are created in (and written out in) the form YYYY-MM-DD. You can use the Excel command Format Cells > Custom, and then enter the format yyyy-mm-dd. Look at the CSV output from Excel if you are unsure.
3. After you add your specials to the spreadsheet, export it as a CSV file. You can then import the file using Admin > Tools > Upload Specials File.
